I’m husband, father and grandfather. I practice business law in Chicago and live in Evanston, Illinois.

I grew up in Marshall, Illinois, the county seat of Clark County, in east central Illinois. I studied accounting at the University of Illinois – Urbana-Champaign and upon graduation proceeded directly to Harvard Law School.

After three years in Cambridge and Boston, I returned to Illinois as an associate in the tax practice of the law firm then known as Mayer, Brown & Platt. I stayed there for several years before being enticed by another former Mayer Brown associate to join a small firm as its one-person tax department.
